The Chroma Drive builds on our original design that has already synced tens of thousands of DJ libraries around the world. Both connectors now sit under rotating metal covers that lock into place, the body is full metal, and it comes in five colors.

All prices are quoted in US currency.Ā All orders are shipped USPS, FedEx or DHL.Ā Personal data will never be sold or transferred to third parties.

TRANSIT TIME

We cannot guarantee FedEx or USPS estimated ship times and no refunds will be offered for delays out of our control. Estimated ship times do not include handling or processing times, most in stock items can expect to ship withinĀ 1-2 business daysĀ after you have received an order confirmation.

INTERNATIONAL IMPORT DUTIES

International orders might be subject to import taxes that must be paidĀ when the item arrives depending on your local customs. Duties and taxes are shown during checkout after selecting a shipping method.

DJTT FAST AND FAIR RETURNS POLICY

DJTT strives to provide great condition gear that works for you. Sometimes, gear doesnā€™t work out - so we tryĀ  to provide the speediest and most fair return or replacement method possible.

Most brand new products are returnable within 30 days of the original shipmentĀ (view product exceptions here) without any additional fees, unless:

  1. The product(s) shows visible signs of wear or damage
  2. The product is missing original box, packaging, accessories or manuals

If the item isĀ NOTĀ defective the customer is responsible for all shipping costs. The cost of the original shipment will be deducted from the refund.

Products outside of our 30 day return window must be warrantied through the manufacturer and are subject to their policies and procedures. Replacements for defective units will be sent out once the defective product(s) is returned and received at our facility.

EQUIPMENT WARRANTIES

All DJ TechTools products (such as the Midi Fighters, Chroma Cables, Chroma Caps and other Chroma accesories) have a 1-year full warranty. This warranty does not include protection from damage caused by physical abuse (dropping, beating, slamming, etc) or water damage. Upon notification, receipt and inspection of broken product, DJ TechTools will send out a new product at no additional cost. Any modifications to equipment will void the warranty. If you bought your device from anĀ authorizedĀ reseller then please get in touch with them to get it replaced or serviced. Keep in mind that DJTT midi controllers and accessories purchased from non authorized vendors have no warranty associated with them.

THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS

All third party products warranty claims are handled directly through the manufacturer. The only exception to this is we will handle third party exchanges within 15 days of receipt of the item. No technical support is given for third party products.

We ship orders during weekdays and most orders will ship out in 24-48 hours.

What is your return policy?

Brand new products are returnable within a 30 day period in most cases. If a product is not defective, the buyer is responsible for original and return shipping costs. For domestic defective orders, DJ TechTools will arrange for a return shipping label.

Both ends protected, nothing to lose

The original Chroma Drive had one connector exposed while you used the other. The new version puts rotating metal covers on both USB-A and USB-C ends. They click open and shut like a Zippo and lock into place, so nothing rattles loose and there is no cap to drop in a dark booth. It ships with a protective case and a lanyard, and the built-in keyring loop means you can attach it to whatever you want.

The read and write speeds that actually matter for DJ transfers are rarely the ones on the box. Most DJ drives fail from corruption, not from physical damage. If anything goes wrong with your Chroma Drive, snap a photo or screenshot of the issue and message us. We will help you get it working again fast. The drive also carries a one year warranty against manufacturing defects. If it fails, send it back and we will get a replacement out to you right away.

Drives formatted Fat32 for max Pioneer DJ gear compatibility. Results averaged from two tests from freshly formatted drives on MacBook M2. All drives 128GB, USB 3.2 unless otherwise noted. Tested with Rekordbox 6.8.5 which requires both Device Library and Device Library Plus even it you hit "no". YMMV due to other variables, but this is a representative sample of what you can expect with Chroma Drives.

In addition to real-world DJ testing with our beta testers using these drives in all types of situations, we also performed extreme endurance tests to make sure they are suited for professional DJs and hobbyists alike. Hereā€™s a sample of the testing weā€™ve done:

Does the Chroma Drive work with CDJs and Pioneer gear?

Yes. The USB-A end plugs straight into standalone CDJs and media players. It ships pre-formatted FAT32 for the widest compatibility, including older units.
Does it work with Rekordbox and Engine DJ?

Yes. The memory is chosen and formatted for syncing Rekordbox and Engine DJ libraries, which are thousands of small files rather than single large ones.
Does it work with Denon DJ players?

Yes. We tested on Denon DJ all-in-ones and media players alongside Pioneer DJ / AlphaTheta gear.
What format does it come in, FAT32 or exFAT?

It ships as FAT32, which works across the widest range of DJ gear including older players. FAT32 has a 4GB per-file limit, which is no issue for music tracks. This is a DJ USB drive, so we really recommend not reformatting it away from FAT32. Always leave 10 to 15 percent free either way to avoid library issues.
Is there a cap to lose?

No. Both connectors sit under rotating metal covers that lock shut, so there is nothing to remove and nothing to lose.
Can I use it with a laptop or phone?

Yes. The USB-C end handles your laptop and phone, the USB-A end handles CDJs and players (and of course newer DJ gear with USB-C can use that end, as well)Ā
