We are deeply saddened by the passing of Josh Olds, one of the DJTT family and staff. Josh worked for DJ Techtools starting in October 2018, and quickly became an integral part of almost everything that we do. He brought his joy, decades of experience in the DJ industry, adaptability, creativity, passion, drive, and care to our small team. He made friends with so many people - and was always ready to meet new people and create new connections. He was a fundamental part of DJ Techtools weathering some of our biggest challenges over the last decade, and ensured that we came out stronger from those.
Josh also was one of the best DJs. Ask anyone who ever got to see him play - he was a selector that even the most grizzled veteran DJs would take note of. Importantly, he helped so many others get their start - helping DJs behind the decks, booking them as a promoter, hooking them up with gear advice and selections, teaching producers in his studio, and even releasing his friends’ music on Gold Bloc records. He embodied the experience of being a well-rounded, experienced, DJ who didn’t gatekeep from beginners, but rather elevated and mentored them.
Thanks for the laughs, the smiles, the vibes, the effort and the passion. You left your mark on us and will be missed. We hope you found peace.
